HOW I DID MY WALLPAPER

I want to go straight to the point

STEP 1
I put the concrete image to the background (Layer 1)and used the magic wand to cut out the guitarist (layer 2). Then I duplicated the guitarist layer 5 times to make 6 of them.
STEP 2
The concrete image was too light so I played with the exposure

STEP 3
After doing that I started giving different black and white effects to each of the clones and tried to make each different and unique then the other.

LAST STEP
I just inserted the logo on the right bottom corner

WALLPAPER TOPIC CHANGE

We cant do on National like days so I have changed my topic to one of the huge festivals in  our country which is "Maldives Breakout Festival".

WHY??
I miss my country and as a youth I watch the perfomances on TV and go to the festival if possible. Its a rock band competition which is actually a festival which is held every year.

So, I am going to use these pictures

HOW I MADE MY BANNER & SNEAK PEAK

One day I was really bored and wanted to do something, so I opened my photoshop CS4 and started playing with it. The first picture I made was my INTRODUCTION picture and the second one was this.

PICTURES I USED

<- A gun I found on the internet
       Me acting STUPID =P     ->
BELOW is the floor of my room

I have no idea why I took this picture

~ And its interesting to see how I got all of this together in the end.~

Before you go any further with this post, I want to tell everybody that this is one of those projects that you do for giggles and laughs. I took the floor picture and resized it into a rectangle long and thin shape and made a background out of it like this

I was laughing while I was doing this. I could have just used a image from the internet ,but instead of that I had to take a picture of my rooms flow and use it as a background making this picture.

THEN......

I cut myself using the magic wand and made a new layer to put me in. And yes I was holding a knife and a mobile. You can say I am always like this when it comes to fun works that I do for my own pleasure.

 After this.........

I used the magnetic lasso tool to select the gun and dropped it in the picture I was making and I wanted it to be behind my hand so I used the magentic lasso to cut my hand and put it on a higher layer then the gun.

  NEXT.....

I selected everything using the Rectangular Marquee tool and got the brightness to -150 and contrast to +100. It looked cool, but not cool enough.

SO..........

I selected all with Rectangular Marquee and Deselected the red part of the gun with magnetic lasso tool. After I made every bar -200 except yellow (+300), I realized an error which I hink I might have deselected while deselecting the red area. So I took the brush tool and drew some black there.

To end all of this madness, I wrote my name and slogan in different font sizes using the font style "Parry Hotter". I got an opinion from my cousin and he said it looks childish and I do agree, I look at this and it gives me chuckles instead of a shock hehe.

FUTURE PROJECT= PLAYING WITH THE LAYERS

STAY TUNE TO SEE WHAT I DO WITH THIS THREE IMAGES.

THIS MIGHT BE A HUGE STEP OF PHOTOSHOP PROGRESSION FOR ME.

E-WALLPAPER IDEA

E-WALL PAPER IDEA
So I am thinking of making my E-WALL PAPER on my country's Independance Day which falls on 26th July every year since 1965. In the year 1887, Maldives became a British Protectorate. During that time, the Britishers agreed that they wont interfere in the internal affairs of Maldives. However, when it came to foreign matters, the Britishers had to be consulted.

So on our Independance day, Children from different schools performs a parade around Male' our capital city and cultural dances and cultural music is shown on TV most of the time. Our president at that time  (R.I.P Ibrahim Nasir) gave us this day to enjoy as if he wasn't here, we wont be independent. This picture is the day when he saved us from the British.
~(JULY 26th 1968)~
SOME CULTURAL  PRACTICES

BODU MUS ( BIG FISH):- This is a cultural craft where on special days, island people and sometimes City people make using coconut palm leaves and weave them together into this. Its like those Chinese Dragons where people get into it.

BODU BERU (CULTURAL DRUMS):- Cultural music where they make these drums from coconut palm trunks. The fast beats makes you clap and dance like crazy. And that is Cultural men cloths they are wearing

DHIVEHI LIBAAS (WOMEN CULTURAL DRESS):- This is the cultural women dress that women where while performing for cultural dances and to perform plays. And on TV if its a very national broadcasting or a national event, women hosts where this most of the time.

SO THATS MY VISION FOR NOW AND I THE IMAGE IS DEVELOPING IM MY BRAIN ~RIGHT NOW WHILE I SPEAK OF IT~

LEARNING IN PROGRESS & HOW I DID THE PICTURE ON MY INTRODUCTION POST

HOW:- Lynda.com Tutorials

My close friend Peter Niwagaba gave me alot of Videos from Lynda.com. It has been two weeks since then and due to other things happening in my life, I got less time to check them out. Still I did and I have learned some things.

I have seen alot of my friends play with photoshop back at home so I had a few ideas about it.

HOW I DID MY PICTURE ON THE INTRODUCTION POST

I took out my camera and attached it on my tripod and started shooting some pictures. I took 10 pictures of me holding my bussiness card which I did for my Visual Reseach & Communication 2 class and this was the best of them all.

This was the best of them all so I chose this to be my INTRODUCTION POST picture. I looked at the picture and realized that the flash has blurred my card.

So I......

I used the magic wand and only selected the card and made the brightness -150 and contrast to 100. Curiosity!!!

I started playing with different things and came across EXPOSURE
so next what I did was.......

Selected everything with Rectangular Marquee Tool and I played with the exposure and then made it to -2.26, off-set to -0.0026 and gamma to +1.35. Curiosity comes back again!!!

Next I played with color balance and....
Again, I selected everything with Rectangular Marquess Tool and used the magic wand tool and deselected my logo and then clicked on color balance which is on the adjustments panel. I only changed the midtones and highlights.
Midtones= -100 ,+100, -100
Highlights= -100, -100, +100
It was time to use the black & white feature, so I selected everything with Rectangle Marquee Tool and deselected the logo with Magic Wand. I only played with the bars and this is the values.

-200, -200, +83, -27, +23, +33

The final touch was to make my eyes red. So I selected both my eyes using the Magnetic Lasso Tool and clicked color balance on the adjustment panel. I only played with the cyan-red bar and made it +100 on Shadows, Highlights & Midtones.

It was finally finished and I uploaded it as my Facebook Profile picture

Well, I was on and offing the layers to see different effects and I had everything on except the first color balance where I made myself look really bright and this was the effect.

INTRODUCTION

Hello readers,

My name is Ashwaan and I am from Maldives. I came here to Malaysia after finishing my O levels. I am one of the 3 Maldivians in MMU Cyberjaya right now.

Have been beatboxing for more than 5 years and I have been singing in competitions (school) since 1st grade. Its just a hobby.

Miss my country alot. For those who dont know, Maldives is islands formed in the indian ocean which is close to Sri Lanka. Its a 100% Muslim country and weirdly mixed race. Family and Friends is the first reason I want to go back home and the second reason is........
