HOW:- Lynda.com Tutorials
My close friend Peter Niwagaba gave me alot of Videos from Lynda.com. It has been two weeks since then and due to other things happening in my life, I got less time to check them out. Still I did and I have learned some things.
I have seen alot of my friends play with photoshop back at home so I had a few ideas about it.
HOW I DID MY PICTURE ON THE INTRODUCTION POST
I took out my camera and attached it on my tripod and started shooting some pictures. I took 10 pictures of me holding my bussiness card which I did for my Visual Reseach & Communication 2 class and this was the best of them all.
This was the best of them all so I chose this to be my INTRODUCTION POST picture. I looked at the picture and realized that the flash has blurred my card.
So I......
I used the magic wand and only selected the card and made the brightness -150 and contrast to 100. Curiosity!!!
I started playing with different things and came across EXPOSURE
so next what I did was.......
Selected everything with Rectangular Marquee Tool and I played with the exposure and then made it to -2.26, off-set to -0.0026 and gamma to +1.35. Curiosity comes back again!!!
Next I played with color balance and....
Again, I selected everything with Rectangular Marquess Tool and used the magic wand tool and deselected my logo and then clicked on color balance which is on the adjustments panel. I only changed the midtones and highlights.
Midtones= -100 ,+100, -100
Highlights= -100, -100, +100
It was time to use the black & white feature, so I selected everything with Rectangle Marquee Tool and deselected the logo with Magic Wand. I only played with the bars and this is the values.
-200, -200, +83, -27, +23, +33
The final touch was to make my eyes red. So I selected both my eyes using the Magnetic Lasso Tool and clicked color balance on the adjustment panel. I only played with the cyan-red bar and made it +100 on Shadows, Highlights & Midtones.
It was finally finished and I uploaded it as my Facebook Profile picture
Well, I was on and offing the layers to see different effects and I had everything on except the first color balance where I made myself look really bright and this was the effect.
